ELEONES olives acquire AGROCERT certification

Two years have passed since ELEONES put into effect a plan of improving further the quality of the sole raw material used for its olive oil, the Hondroelia olives.

The ELEONES team wanted to be in a position to produce only highest quality olive oil in accordance with the ELEONES quality specifications.

Over this two year period, ELEONES in cooperation with specialized in the field, agriculturists and carefully selected olive tree growers, implemented a series of procedures to ensure that the health benefits derived from olive oil are not cancelled by the excessive use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers.

The first results came in 2012 with the quality of the ELEONES Early Harvest olive oil.

Now in 2013, AGROCERT, the national Agricultural Products Certification and Supervision Organization, certified the olives used for the ELEONES Extra Virgin Olive Oil under the AGRO 2.1 & 2.2, the Integrated Management System for agricultural production.

The ELEONES EVOO in the 3L tin that will be next month available in the US market will be the first product of the ELEONES family of products that will be certified under the AGRO 2.1 & 2.2.

Please note: AGROCERT certifies also the P.D.O. (Protected Destination of Origin) which is irrelevant to the Integrated Management System for agricultural production and it can be displayed on the bottles or tins of Greek olive oil unlike the AGRO 2.1 & 2.2.
