Outlook of Greek olive oil exports to China and Russia
According to recently released data from the International Olive Council, imports of olive oil into the Chinese market grew by 60% season-on-season for 2009/10. The total imports of olive oil from the EU-27 countries, accounted for 89% of total imports of China.
Greece with 7% share of the total EU exports of olive oil into China, was in the third place after Spain and Italy.
Russia on the other hand imported about 25.000t of olive oil in 2009/10, an increase of about 50% from the previous season. EU-27 countries imports accounted for 93% of total imports of Russia. Greece had a share of 6% of the total imports following in this case also Spain and Italy.
