Greece’s olive oil exports on the rise
According to the International Olive Council’s Newsletter 46, in Greece the crop year 2010/11 opened with 7.696,6 tones of exports, representing a 9% increase on the same period of the previous season.
Greek exports to non-EU countries came to 1.559,1 tones, up by 8%. The countries behind this increase were the United States, China, Canada and Russia. Intra-EU exports totaled 6.137,5 tones, again showing an increase, this time of +9.2%, chiefly to Italy, Poland and the United Kingdom.
