Greek exports of olives and olive oil to the US on the rise
Recently published data by the Greek offices for economic and commercial affairs in the US, confirm the trend for increased Greek exports of olives and olive oil.
Figures show that Greek olives worth almost $102 million were exported to the USA in 2013. That is an increase of approximately 8.5%. Olives remain at the second position in terms of the total value of Greek exports to the USA.
Following the record harvest of 2012/13, exports of Greek olive oil to the US showed significant dynamic as well. The value of Greek olive oil exported to the US reached $28 million increased by a staggering 57,8%. Olive oil is now at the eighth position of Greek exports to the US in terms of value. In 2012 it was at the fifteenth place.
The figures for olives and olive oil confirm the potential of Greek exports of those as well as other quality products to the vast market of the USA that ELEONES team has predicted.
Following a very difficult 2013/14 harvest, the ELEONES team is preparing to act upon this potential by extending the ELEONES line with new products that will be ready for 2015.
